Modern physical modeling facilities of this lab provide a unique opportunity for researchers to simulate the behavior of different types of earth structures subjected to static and seismic loading. The facilities of this lab consist of a one-degree-of-freedom shaking table, a medium-sized geotechnical centrifuge, a calibration chamber equipped with laboratory CPT device, a split box to simulate faulting and various model containers in different sizes for 1g shake table and ng centrifuge tests. The lab is also equipped with different types of precise electronic measuring units including transducers and dynamic data acquisition systems.
